post about Cantonese language where I said that the number four was bad luck? Well, we've lived here almost 9 months, riding the lift multiple times a day, and yesterday was the first day I noticed this:

yeah. In our building we were also missing 13, so I never did quite figure out how many floors there were! DeAne
do you think it's bad luck that there are 4 columns of numbers? that was the first thing i noticed....eek.
whoa, good point. Never noticed that-- hmmm...
Another reason for skipping the 4s is to avoid properties in those floors fetching lower prices because of their association with that number. Some superstitious Chinese do not wish to own properties on those floors.
